Hi. I'm Laura.
"The goal of art isn't to attain perfection. The goal is to share who we are.
And how we see the world."
-Rick Rubin
Defining one’s true self is not a simple endeavor.

For me, if often feels impossible.

As Rick Rubin (2023) reflects in The Creative Act: A Way of Being, we embody various versions of ourselves throughout different contexts in our lives.
From the persona we adopt as creatives to the one we present to family, friends, and colleagues, we constantly shift and evolve. Each of these iterations represents a piece of our full selves, revealing different facets at different times—whether we’re in moments of peace, crisis, solitude, or connection.
Which is why the question "who are you" is a complex one for me, as it assumes a static identity, when it reality we live as fluid, multifaceted beings in a constantly changing world.
ABOUT ME

At this point in my journey, I recognize that there is still so much to learn and discover ahead. But there are also certain aspects of who I am that feel more solidified.

Looking back on my life, I’ve learned a few things for sure.

I’m a daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend—roles that have shaped who I am. At my core, I’m independent, curious, and determined (with a stubborn streak my parents like to remind me of). Like everyone, I’ve faced ups and downs, losses, and struggles—some visible, some not—but I keep moving forward.

Through it all, I’ve realized that values matter more than goals. Goals can come and go, but living with honesty, integrity, and authenticity is always within reach.

I’m an introvert who loves meaningful conversations with trusted friends, though I can step into extrovert mode when needed. I’m not a fan of small talk, which is why I’m drawn to deep thinkers—people who feel safe enough to share their true selves with me. At the same time, I enjoy having fun and can embrace a little adventure... as long as I have some notice to prepare!

Outside of reflecting on life's deeper questions, I love spending time with family & close friends. My hobbies are a mix of creativity and connection—reading, caring for plants, cooking, and capturing life through photography. I also enjoy playing the piano, which has been a lifelong source of relaxation and joy.
Living in Colorado, I'm a big fan of sitting outside as often as possible and seek out opportunities for hiking, skiing, or a family camping trip.

In this moment, I keep trying. And, I find some peace in the realization that I don’t need to have all the answers. I can continue to live with intention, grounded in the values that matter most to me. My identity is a work in progress. It's not about defining myself rigidly, but about allowing myself to evolve, flow, and adapt. Embracing each new version of myself as I grow and change is part of the journey.
After all, it’s the journey itself that matters as much as the destination.
"Your mind will take the shape of what you frequently hold in thought, for the human spirit is colored by such impressions."
Marcus Aurelius, Meditations, 5.16.
